Paris, France, March 1, 2005 - Aureus Pharma announced today the release of a new AurSCOPE® database for the hERG channel. The hERG channel is of major importance to the pharmaceutical industry today as interaction of some drugs with this channel has led to cardiotoxicity and recently several major pharmaceuticals have been pulled from the market due to hERG related safety concerns.
The AurSCOPE hERG Channel database contains up to date data including all published structure activity relationships concerning hERG-ligand interactions. “Researchers use Aureus Pharma’s knowledge base to better predict the potential hERG related side effects of a compound,” said Dr. André Michel, Aureus Pharma’s CEO. “Our latest AurSCOPE database will greatly complement a company’s proprietary data in addressing this critical safety issue.”
This new database strengthens the product portfolio of Aureus Pharma which now includes databases for G-Protein Coupled Receptors, Ion Channels, and ADME/Drug-Drug Interactions.
